Weapons
In addition to the normal weapons in the PH, Talislanta is home to a great many exotic weapons as well. Many of them the preferred weapon of a specific race.
Ahktahk [Exotic Large - melee]
This massive sword is the preferred weapon of Kang heavy infantry. Its heavy blade is designed to cut through armor and is particulary effective against Raknid chitin. When the user hits, he can make a Strength check against DC 10 + AR of the target. If successful, the attack ignores the target's AR completely.

Alchemy Rod [Exotic Medium - melee]
This Sindaran item is used to disperse any type of alchemical dust or powerder in a five-foot radius. The inside is hollow and can hold up to five vials. It has a pump-spring mechanism that allows it to be reloaded at a rate of one vial per round.

Blade Bracer [Exotic Small - ranged]
A popular Kasmiran device, it is essentially an iron bracer housing a spring-knife. It is used by making a fist and touching a trigger mechanism that extends towards the palm, releasing the blade which flies out at the target. It takes one action to reload a new blade.

Blade-Staff [Exotic Medium - Melee]
Another Kasmiran favorite, this resembles a common wooden staff or walking stick. When the center section is twisted, blades hidden inside both ends snap into place. It an be used as a single or double weapon, depending on whether one or both blades are extended.

Blade-Star [Exotic Small - ranged]
These razor-sharp, four-pointed stars measure about four inches across and are used by Mondre Khan with deadly accuracy.

Bolas [Exotic Small - ranged]
A popular weapon with slavers, a bolas is a set of 3 weighted balls connected by leather cords. Shield bonuses to AC do not apply against a bolas attack. If hit, the target must make a Reflex save (DC equal to the attack roll). If he succeeds, he takes normal damage. If he fails, he takes subdual damage and is considered pinned as per the grapple rules. Bolas can pin only Tiny, Small, or Medium-sized targets. To escape, the target must either break out (Strength check, DC 20), wriggle free (Escape Artist check, DC 20), or cut (or be cut) loose (5 hp damage, slashing weapons only). Regardless of the method, escaping is a full-round action.

Bolas, Barbed [Exotic Small - ranged]
Similiar to normal bolars, except that the balls are studded with hooked barbs. It functions identically to normal bolas except that its damage is not subdual damage. In addition, on any attempt to break or wriggle free, the grappled target takes an additional d4 damage.

Crescent Knife [Exotic Small - melee/ranged]
This crescent-shaped knife was traditionally used by the Green Aeriad to harvest virida until the Blue Aeriad realized it made a pretty nice missile weapon. It can be used as either a melee or missile weapon.

Crystalblade [Exotic Small - melee]
The traditional Gnomekin weapon, it is a short sword made of solid crystal. The sharp, diamond-hard edge ignores half the AR of the target.

Dragon Harpoon [Exotic Large - melee/ranged]
This ten-foot long barbed weapon is the traditional weapon of the Sunra Dragon Hunters. Sunra believe that it is more honorable to deliver the death-blow to their prey with this weapon, using their own strength, even though this requires moving within throwing range of their wounded prey.

Four-Bladed Axe [Exotic Large - melee]
Also known as a tarak, this is a four-bladed, two-handed iron axe used by the warriors of Harak. Only a very strong person can use this weapon without looking extremely foolish.

Hurlant [Exotic Medium - ranged]
Similar to a heavy crossbow, this missile-throwing weapon is used by Dracartan desert scouts and other military personnel. It fires a bolt containing a glassy capsule of elemental essence. The capsule shatters on contact, producing a one-foot radius explosion of elemental force. The actual target of the bolt takes double damage.

Iron Boomerang [Exotic Small - ranged]
Also known as a jang, this saw-edged boomerang is used by the Harakin. It is typically made of black iron, jagged and saw-toothed along one edge, and weighs up to 3 pounds. Heavy gloves or gauntlets must be worn when using this weapon. In the event of a miss, the weapon returns to the thrower.

Rasp [Exotic Medium - melee]
Mondre Khan use these grim-looking weapons in close combat. The saw-toothed blade leaves an awful, jagged wound that takes twice as long as normal to heal.

Spring Knife [Exotic Small - ranged]
A favorite of the Kasmirans, this device typically resembles a small tube. When activated, a spring-loaded knife flies forth at the target.

Tri-Bow [Exotic Medium - ranged]
The favored weapon of the Aeriad, this modified crossbow can be loaded with up to three bolts at a time which can be fired at the user's normal rate of attack.

Two-Bladed Knife [Exotic Small - ranged]
Another Harakin weapon, it does more damage than a normal knife but weights twice as much and is unsuitable for throwing.

Zandir Poignard
One of the two signature weapons of the Zandir Swashbuckler. This heavy-bladed dagger adds +1 to the user's AC when used in his off-hand. Though it can be thrown, it is not balanced for such and has a -2 to hit.

Zandir Rapier
The other signature weapon of the Zandir Swashbuckler, though many non-Swashbucklers use it as well. It is a finely balanced weapon designed for fast, furious swordplay. The rich and famous typically have rapiers made of red iron which weigh only half as much.
