Rangers & Druids
You'll note that rangers and druids share a lot of the same special abilities, which only makes sense since both spend a great deal of time in the outdoors.
The question is doesn't this make it a bit redundant to take levels in both? Not necessarily.
When a character has both ranger and druid levels, for purposes of non-spell special abilities, combine the levels to see what abilities the character has.
For example, Mycen is a 2/2 ranger/druid. Thus, for purposes of special abilities, he is considerd 4th level and gains the "resist nature's lure" ability.

Ranger
The forests and wildernesses of Talislanta are home to fierce and cunning creatures, and few wander in those areas if they can avoid it. All except rangers. These skilled hunters and trackers know these dangerous areas and their inhabitants well and can survive where others fear to go.
A rangers preferred weapon is his bow, and he is an expert at it. Whenever possible, the ranger prefers to use stealth and cunning when fighting. He is a hunter more than a warrior, and fights as such.
A "ranger" can be a scout, bounty hunter, or hunter. This class is for someone more at home in the wilds than in civilization, who prefers stealth to brute force and favors missile weapons over melee.
Class skills, hit die, skill points, base attack bonus, saves, weapons and armor are all the same as in the PH. However, rangers do not cast spells (though many take some druid levels at some point) and they do not get any special bonus with two-weapon fighting. They do still get Track as a bonus feat.
Special Abilities
Favored enemy as per the PH, except that the bonus is to hit as well as to damage.
Starting at 2nd level, and every 3 levels after that (5, 8, 11, 14, 17, 20), the ranger can select a bonus feat from the following list: Point Blank Shot, Far Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid Shot, Shot on the Run, Armor Penetration (bow), Deflect Ranged Attack, Improved Rapid Shot, Ranged Disarm, Ranged Pin, and Ranged Sunder.
Rangers receive the following druid special abilities at the same level a druid would: nature sense, animal companion, woodland stride, trackless step, resist nature's lure, and venom immunity.
